What is Integrative Wellness?+

Integrative Wellness combines the best of modern science (Lifestyle/Integrative Medicine) with natural therapies. By blending practices from alternative medicine with conventional medicine, BMI Wellness Concepts offers a deep-dive, holistic, and person-centered approach that assists clients in identifying the underlying cause of their health concerns.

Do you take insurance?+

Our wellness services are very affordable and we also provide financing options. Because we focus on a wellness model rather than the traditional sick-care model, many of our programs operate outside of standard insurance billing. Please contact us directly to discuss payment options that work for you.

Do you have primary care providers on staff?+

Yes. If you already have a primary care provider (PCP), BMI Wellness Concepts will coordinate care with them to ensure continuity of care. Our team works alongside your existing providers rather than replacing them.

What is a Remote Discovery or Tele-Wellness visit?+

A Remote Discovery Visit is a 20-minute appointment focused on completion of a questionnaire and review of your health concerns and goals with a healthcare provider. In addition to the discovery visit, we offer Tele-Wellness visits to help meet clients where they are — all conducted securely via telehealth.

What is a Holistic Health Coach and how can they help me?+

A Holistic Health Coach provides personalized support and guidance to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. Our experienced coaches develop customized plans that fit each client's unique needs and lifestyle, incorporating the five pillars of health: Nutrition, Detox, Gut Health, Hormones Reset, and Mindset-Relaxation (stress and sleep hygiene).

What is holistic wellness coaching?+

Holistic wellness coaching is a personalized approach that addresses all aspects of your health — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Dr. J combines her 30+ years of medical expertise with holistic practices to create a comprehensive wellness plan tailored specifically to you.

How do I book an appointment with Dr. J?+

You can book an appointment through our Patient Portal (after registering/logging in) or by contacting us directly via email, phone, or the contact form on this website.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?+

Yes! We offer secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth appointments via video. You can schedule these through the Patient Portal.

What should I expect at my first appointment?+

Your initial consultation is a comprehensive wellness assessment. Dr. J will review your health history, discuss your goals, and develop a personalized wellness plan. Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes.

Patient Portal

How do I create a patient portal account?+

Visit the Patient Portal registration page, provide your basic information, and verify your email address. Your account will be activated after email verification.

Is my medical information secure in the patient portal?+

Absolutely. Our patient portal is HIPAA-compliant. All medical data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. We maintain full audit logs of all data access.

What documents can I upload to the portal?+

You can upload PDFs, images (JPEG, PNG), and Word documents including lab results, imaging reports, prescriptions, and other medical records. Each file can be up to 50MB.

Can I pay my bills through the patient portal?+

Yes! The patient portal includes a secure billing section powered by Stripe. You can view invoices and make payments safely online.

Privacy & HIPAA

How do you protect my personal health information (PHI)?+

We follow strict HIPAA guidelines. All PHI is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and in transit (TLS). We maintain comprehensive audit logs, use role-based access controls, and store files in HIPAA-eligible AWS S3 infrastructure.

Who can access my medical records?+

Only you and authorized healthcare providers on your care team can access your records. Every access is logged in our audit trail.

Can I request deletion of my records?+

Under HIPAA, medical records are retained for a minimum of 6 years. You may request a copy of your records or discuss your privacy rights by contacting us directly.
